1% of the world’s population owns half of the world’s wealth.

I think the 99% rest of us are in tough. My prediction, with the recent falling dollar and interest rate: Watch for more stores and businesses to fail this year. It will get tougher to find necessary products and helpful services in the real world. In any case, woe betide the poor, single-parent families, the elderly, the unemployed, and the young generation in finding employment.

Although some wealthy men are generous philanthropists (e.g., Andrew Carnegie, Bill Gates) too many are rapacious (how some become rich and how some never get ‘enough’ power and wealth). In the process, families, friendships, loyalties, companies, jobs, etc. perish in the wake. The sort of thing that prompted Kenneth Clark to remark that “Great wealth is destructive.”
