Am listening to his brilliant melancholy op. 131 & 135 late quartets.
Beethoven wrote these (127, 130, 131, 132, 133, 135) after he had become completely deaf in 1816 and just before he died in 1827.
(It was the late quartets that T.S. Eliot listened to which inspired his own Four Quartets sequence.)
