Don’t believe the misinformed National Geographic Summer Destination list.
Edmonton is on the Closed for Business, Closed for Tourists, Closed for Locals lists.
Downtown is officially closed. The only worthwhile visitor site–the museum–is miles away from any parking. Hawrelak Park is under construction. Ft. Edmonton is closed. The zoo still has construction. Nothing is open here. Go somewhere else. There’s nothing to see here in this wasteland and only myriad road closures and Third World roads to get around on. Edmontonians themselves would do well to go elsewhere to a real city that’s genuinely open for tourists and biz. Abandon all hope ye who enter here.
