The current [AB] NDP will get more worked up over “de-gendering the bathroom” than job losses in Alberta, or anywhere else.

An example of what I’d call agenda-ed political distraction, that is, using a lower-priority matter affecting or catering to a relatively small minority rather than dealing with a significant hard-hitting core economic issue affecting many.
This is, though, typical of our e-media times in which diverted attention and sidebar distractions have replaced dealing head-on with serious major issues of the day in need of immediate political and economic attention. It’s easy and lazy to simply choose misfocus and to ignore the larger social realities of the day.
ps/ Edmonton City Council plays the same game all the time with bike lanes vs. ubiquitous crumbling roads.
