Shaw’s Most Different Play

A play of individual voices in clonflict with society to begin with. Then, in the last act, a coming together of the voices and ‘parts’ in an attempt to find purpose and resolution. A response to WWI with the usual Shavian comments on human hypocrisy. His least conventional, resolved play. Recommended: the BBC version shown above with Sir John Gielgud as Captain Shotover.
