with a coffee and watching The Mystery of Agatha Christie with David Suchet. Typical unconventional start to the week. Elsewhere in this blog I have spoken about how people search for info each day and that is often the main focus of daily activities. The Information. Different for each person and reflecting the person’s taste, interests, and sensibility. We are defined, better understood, and appreciated by the information we seek. That info is us, who we are, and what we are about.
In his quest for understanding, enlightenment, and appreciation, Suchet turns up a number of interesting tidbits that suggest the inner life of the author, her sensibility, and her work. He gets enough info and confirmations to say that he confidently knows her better by the end of the program. Interestingly, he says that he is glad he never met her because she might have expressed her disapproval of a performance and that would have affected his obviously sensitive actor’s vanity about his approach to Poirot.
