the climate crisis is already here. Lytton wiped out and over 200 wildfires raging out of control. A.C. is necessary for survival. Woe betide anyone living in forests or quaint homes and small communities near heavy bush. And no one’s mentioned the t-word lately: tornados. They will probably increase in Western Canada. Pandemic. Heat dome. Wildfires. Next?
If it’s not been obvious the past year, life world-wide has boiled down to day-to-day survival including various provisioning and money wasted on these innumerable crises. We here, in Edmonton for instance, have that old same problem/issue found elsewhere in Third World countries, albeit with many more resources and assets.
But yeah, it’s pretty much about survival at this point. And that entails mental survival, spirit survival/hope/optimism, and financial sustainability.
And what about the younger generation growing up in these mad, stressful times? How are they managing?
It’s been a long process, but the chickens seem to be coming home to roost on all fronts.
