Naivete on wheels. The possibilities on a neighborhood bike ride changed somewhat after 9/11. Given how many terrorists within Canada have mowed down pedestrians and others, one can’t necessarily guarantee that one will return from what was generally a pretty safe ride in my youth of the 50s and 60s and even into the 80s and 90s. Generally speaking, there are too many people with mental and political problems walking now amongst us.
