Basics: How to Relax

Basic Ways to Relax, Reduce Stress and Anxiety, and Recharge

-breathe deeply for a while

-splash cold water on your face

-close your eyes and meditate

-sniff oranges!

-pat the dog or cat

-take a short nap with eyes closed

-turn off the computer and tv

-exercise and stretch in one spot

-walk around the house looking at things

-listen to some quiet music online or on CD

-go outside to get some sun, breathe fresh air, and listen to Nature

-go for a short walk

-talk to someone you like either in the house or on the phone

-use Google to look up unfamiliar words or to find information or answers on topics of interest

-create something

-make plans

-write down your feelings

-do a crossword or word search

-read a book of your choice

-tidy your room or the house
