“The joyful player” of “Maya”, indeed. (c.f. above entry)
Kenney must have relied on a gut feeling, like Trump, that the pandemic was over when he said the summer was open (for business).
and picks a woman. He wanted to get Marjorie Taylor Greene, but she will soon be facing sedition charges.
I guess Kenney wants to create a redneck civilian militia to shield the UCP, especially if he is voted out next election, a la Trump.
(You heard it here first.)
Hospitals and ICUs could be full by the second week of September in Alberta. So we’ll have people needing emergency treatments and Covid treatments dying outside hospitals, in their parking lots, or on the streets just like the States when they can’t get into hospitals and are turned away.
Oh, wait, I get it! The pandemic is over here and we are open for business. Our useless, absentee premier doesn’t envision a return of Covid so we’re going to be ok all on our own. He has far more important things to do; his holiday supercedes leading and guiding the province through disasters and crises. Very GOP-ish: wish it away, declare it’s not real and gone away. Don’t listen to the suffering populace or doctors. They’re exhausted, frustrated, sick and dying. What the hell would they know anyway?
Every individual is an island, in fact
entire of itself, every one though
a part of the continent, is but a clod
washed away by the sea.
The world is less as well as if
a promontory were, as well as if
manners or thy friends
and thine own were.
Any entity’s death diminishes me,
because I too, live alone;
and therefore, never send to know
for whom the bell tolls;
it tolls for each and every of us–
the individuals that we truly are.

Donne’s original
‘No Man is an Island’No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as any manner of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee. Olde English Version No man is an Iland, intire of itselfe; every man is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Manor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee. Hurdy Gurdy Man
Thrown like a star in my vast sleep
I opened my eyes to take a peek
To find that I was by the sea
Gazing with tranquility
‘Twas then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
Came singing songs of love
Then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
Came singing songs of love
“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy gurdy” he sang
“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy gurdy” he sang
“Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy gurdy” he sang
Histories of ages past
Unenlightened shadows cast
Down through all eternity
The crying of humanity
‘Tis then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
Comes singing songs of love
Then when the Hurdy Gurdy Man
Comes singing songs of love….
No leadership.
Just an absentee ‘god’ who wasted 1.3 billion on a U.S. pipeline.

Charlie Watts, 80.
I will never forget his opening on “Honky Tonk Women”.
What gullible fools these Fox News junkies are!
Mindlessly choosing to consume horse dewormer rather than federally approved vaccines to ward off Covid.
I hope some of them sue the pants off the network for endorsing dangerous drugs for the dumb-ass nutcases that support them and keep them in business.
