I Got the Job Overnight!

Auditioning for the Barenaked Ladies. They decided to add me as their fifth man. They appreciated my rhythm guitar playing and lead singing. (They even had me singing Page’s “It’s All Been Done”. ) But they were also looking ahead to using some of my songs: “Until Next Year” and a modified version of “Computer Kid”. They also liked my John Lennon sound on some vocals they were planning to write. And, of course, my patented 1965 Bob Dylan imitation for “If I Had a Million Dollars”.

There were some concerns about my age (and I’d have to agree that this opportunity would have worked better in the more active 55-60 phase) and if I’d be able to stand up to the rigors of touring. But they seemed to accept that I’d wear my black winter cap )a la vintage Dylan and wouldn’t be jumping around as much as they have typically done.

Anyway, dreams continue to offer possibilities I’ve only apparently dreamed of. It was a lot of fun and one of my better sleeps in a while.

Vitamin C

remains vital in this or any other winter of our discontent. I heartily recommend Navel oranges and the surprisingly sweet Opal apples out right now.

Thank You, Justin

for the consumable edibles, conveniently made for high school kids who want to get high without the tell-tale smoke and more obvious smell.
His latest brainless contribution to Canadian health and education. His only legislative legacy.

Literally Down to Our Last Gasps?

This morning in -40 Edmonton windchill which begins to freeze lungs within 2 mins.
And in Australia, where wildfire smoke is spreading across the Southern Hemisphere. A kaff-kaff ‘gift’ from Aus.
Will that be the way of our final mass exit and extinction? Death by breathing regardless of where you live?

“Say it ain’t so, Joe.”

The 1919 Chicago Red Sox and the 2017 Houston Aeros.

Moral corruption will never be expunged from the sports world. Individuals and teams will cheat to win. Winning is everything.

And technology exists to be used and exploited for corrupt ends as it universally is online in today’s world. E-technology is often a nefarious enabler for corrupt agendas, pure and simple.
