74 is not a bad age to be

if you have enough money, good health, a significant other, a car for mobility, a house to live in as well as a happy, healthy family.

Cart Before Horse Stuff

On tv’s “Escape to the Country”, it’s amazing how many house-seekers will view all 3 houses, sometimes falling in love with 2, and then admit they still have to sell their current homes! (Uh, why are they looking?)

The chances of the clock stopping for this key/basic aspect are next-to-nil. One wonders why they get so taken by or worked up about a property before they can realistically make a move on it/before they have a seriously good chance of getting it.

The prospective buyer on today’s show kept referring to his cheque book being ready to purchase, but, in reality, that’s just a joke given the above, normal horse before cart process.

Wouldn’t it make sense to have sold the house and have weeks to go looking for new digs, and then when finding the right area or house, to make the fast, expeditious, or immediate move?

The nice buyers I saw today don’t likely have a tinker’s chance at getting either of the two places they fell in love with because square A hasn’t yet happened, and they actually entered the house search with all kinds of built-in limits and limitations. In short, they are/were simply not ready to buy.

Says a lot about many people: very impractical and unrealistic, basically.

Trump’s Weight?

Likely closer to 300 lbs.

Stormy Daniels had the best retort of all, though, saying that if his reported weight was real, then she was still a virgin and weighed 110 lbs.

Inspired Post-Modern Piano Trio Jazz Stylings

by the legendary Kenny Barron, whom I once met at the Yardbird Suite after a show.
He offers several of his own compositions punctuated by Thelonius Monk’s work.

He can play very fast and incredibly slow/delicate, covering all the bases. Always to be savoured for his work’s richness, beauty, and complexity.

Re. Recruiting Firefighters

I wonder how many people will sign up after all the firefighters in action that die and are hospitalized in action, or are threatened by the people they’re supposed to protect, having their basic resources stolen by the same loonies.

Eventually, too, there will also be studies of what the terrible physical and mental effects of firefighting are for long periods of time.

UCP’s Solution to Mental Health Crisis

is to introduce webinars to introduce the ‘interested’ public in how to deal with the mentally ill.
Can’t you visualize it now?
Some crazy-looking guy with a knife walking toward you menacingly as you recall what you learned at the webinar.
Typical UCP non-solutions to real problems after mental health resources have long been gutted.

The Disillusionment and Sadness of Joseph Conrad:

Plagued with serious personal health problems, being more at home on the sea than on land, enduring years of failure in trying to win a reading audience in England, ironically unable to communicate verbally and coherently in spoken English to his fans; to say nothing of his dark narratives about Imperialism, materialism, corruption, human evil, relationship failures, and abuses of power in landmark works such as Heart of Darkness, Nostromo, The Secret Agent, Lord Jim, Victory, and other great works.

This photo sums up and symbolizes his innermost feelings of isolation, alienation, cynicism, and disillusionment with human nature, choices, and behavior.
