Two Further Exclamation Points to the Day

  1. The Three Hills tornado–yet another reminder that Nature’s dangerous, destructive side can emerge suddenly, unexpected by all the weather experts. (The start of tornado season south of the border coincidentally.) Nature’s violence is as indiscriminate as the terrorists below.
  2. The latest terror attacks in London–a reminder of how the world has changed, particularly in Europe, and for tourists, naively assuming travel there is generally safe. We have been fortunate in Canada to dodge so far for the most part extremists killing innocent civilians, as in London today. Sheer madness. A crazy war by cowards trying to obliterate Western civilization. Similar to the mad jihadic violence also now being waged by them against harmless, peace-loving Christians.

The overlapping lesson of the two events being one of the randomness of timing, damage, and death. One can’t predict when or where one might be killed by Nature or terrorists. Being in the wrong time in the wrong place potentially applies in both cases.
