Occasional Truth in Advertising:

The only one who is truly devoted and loves you back may very well be the family dog.
The Expedia tv commercial with the dog devotedly watching the black woman planning a trip in the tub who decides to book a pet-friendly hotel.

The song was an uncanny choice: “I Don’t Know Why I Love You But I Do” sung by Clarence (Frogman) Henry. I recall listening to this one on the radio in 1956, and actually owned his 1961 45 rpm record of “Lonely Street” which opened with a single crash of music. My dog Scamp would always lift its ears in response to the lines “walk, walk down this lonely street”.
