Language Manipulation: Obscuring Facts

“It depends on what you mean by the word “is”:
Bill Clinton’s hiding the truth of his affair with Lewinsky.

Here, in Alberta, a company responsible for the latest oilspill is fudging/playing with the words “emergency” and “incident”.

Everywhere, language continues to be manipulated for myriad agendas more than ever.

The biggest killer in “Hamlet”

is Hamlet, himself being directly responsible for 8 deaths: himself, Claudius, Laertes, Gertrude, Polonius, Ophelia, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.

And the most honest character in the play. Up till his death, Hamlet, of course. Overall, Yorick, who’s dead.

If Biden had any common sense and cared for others,

he’d remove his vicious dog, which has now bitten 11 workers at the White House. The dog is not cute and lovable; it is a dangerous nuisance.

Two Major UCP Health-Care Failures

The E-coli daycare episode is one, of course. The agent of the outbreak was charged with numerous offences beforehand, but there was zero enforcement. Despite UCP’s bluster, they don’t enforce so the blame for this outrageous health crisis is squarely on their shoulders.

UCP also doesn’t give a flying fig about enforcement in the lone mental hospital in this province–Alberta Hospital, where mice run about freely everywhere inside. Ah, well, those mentally ill patients won’t notice when the vermin come contaminating and nibbling.

These two debacles illustrate and symbolize the zilch seriousness about UCP’s claims on fixing health care in this province.

A Ray of Hope

All through the hot, smoke-filled, magpie and crow-filled summer, nada.

But, finally, last evening, the warble of an old friend and some chirpy song. A robin suddenly, magically appeared, and then another. This morning, one of the two bounced across our lawn oblivious to magpies in the area.

True, s/he may be getting ready to head south, but better this much as opposed to nothing. Brightened our evening and morning.

Re. Daily Human Choices

Individuals literally make hundreds of choices and decisions in the course of a day.

In the last seven years, human choices in Canada and the U.S. have become increasingly weak, corrupt, evil, and irrationally nasty.

In the morning news from the States, these choices have increased greatly and egregiously in people’s faces with zero shame from Republicans and Trump. More and more, voters have been mindlessly lining up to vote against democracy, the Constitution, and law and order. Lies and frauds seem more preferable these days south of our border.

In any case, humans have had a long history of bad, weak, evil, corrupt choices as can be seen by treacherous politics, egotistical self-serving agendas, class systems, wars, and never-ending uses and abuses of the many by the worst in charge.

Despite this ongoing, historical problem and tragedy, there are still examples of human kindness, goodness, and unselfish, public-serving behaviors and actions. There are always more positive, possible choices to be made.

What happens in life, in personal life, in society, and in countries is largely just a matter of human and public choices. And we can–if we choose–treat people as ends (Live and let live) rather than as means to an ends and, certainly much better than as irrationally hated enemies, such as in the case of Russia in their insane, unjustified war against Ukraine.

Every day each of us has many choices in how we can and might live our lives. (Even many people in poverty.) Our purpose is derived from these choices and related motivational values. We can create instead of kill. We can care instead of hate. We can be responsible instead of being selfish, lazy, or corrupt.

As said before, many bad choices are going down today. Too many people are greedy, desperate, and indifferent to the sufferings of others.

But we, as individuals, need not live that way and can strive for higher things, nobler goals, and maybe save ourselves, others, and the planet.

There are many more choices to come and many more to be made. As individuals, though, we, for starters, have the freedom to choose differently.

………………………………………………..

Note: This view of the world, no doubt, stems somewhat from my studies in Existentialism at university. The Existentialists say we create our own lives through our personal choices, and with that, greater personal meaning and purpose.

The Spiralling Mental Health Crisis

Now with 1/6 of Canadians suffering from mental disorders in 2022!

Governments continue to do nada, having removed mental health supports and resources in most provinces.

In fact, charities have carried the water the last decade and now they are pooping out.

Children and women (between 15 and 25) are experiencing the most increased stress. Women/mothers were the prime caregivers through the pandemic at home, in homes, and hospitals.

Re. the Deluded, Crooked Alberta Pension Plan

It’s all really simple.
Danielle and her redneck buds want to steal, broadfacedly, Albertans’ nest-egg money; money that does not belong to them.
They want to frivolously and egregiously waste/blow it on harebrained schemes of their selfish, greedy choosing.
They don’t give a flying fig about Albertans, retirees, and retirements.
They just want to embezzle big funds that don’t belong to them so that Albertans will be left with nothing/nada down the road.
In truth, Danielle just wants to be Queen and wants the province to be a Republic as in States/Trump.
Do not believe any of the fraudulent crapola propaganda being used to stuff this sucker down Albertans’ throats. Lies, all of it.

Roger: A Poetic Songwriter

A Special Kind of Man

Myself I’m made of nothing
And my head is stuffed with hay,
But my brother was a poet,
Or at least that’s what they say

Myself I’m made of nothing
I’m just an ‘also-ran’
My brother was a poet
And a very special kind of man

He painted scenes of dragons,
Knights in armour, bold and brave.
And show me how they rescue ladies fair.
And I killed a hundred dragons.
Rescued damsels in distress
And that really isn’t bad,
For a man who wasn’t there.

Oh, myself I’m made of nothing,
My head is stuffed with hay,
But my brother was a poet,
Or at least that’s what they say.

Myself I made of nothing.
I’m just an ‘also-ran’,
My brother was a poet,
And a very special kind of man.

He’s done so much with his fine words
To brighten up our lives,
With his poems of the working man,
Their mothers and their wives.
Had a short life and a sweet one.
Had no time to plot or plan.
My brother was a poet
And a very special kind of man.

Oh, myself I’m made of nothing,
My head is stuffed with hay,
But my brother was a poet,
Or at least that’s what they say.

Myself I’m made of nothing.
I’m just an ‘also-ran’,
My brother was a poet
And a very special kind of man

Oh, myself I’m made of nothing,
My head is stuffed with hay.
But my brother was a poet,
Or at least that’s what they say.

Myself I’m made of nothing.
I’m just an ‘also-ran’,
My brother was a poet,
And a very special kind of man.
