A huge presence handing out 209 tickets to 680 ‘convoy’ vehicles. Exerting real social control, protecting citizens and laying down the law. They are succeeding whereas Ottawa police failed miserably, originally 4 unnecessarily long weeks ago.
However, got to add that Interim police chief Bell has done a superior job in restoring Ottawa and clearing the downtown within 2 days(incredible!) with the ample support of the OPP and the RCMP, the latter which Kenney wants to phase out here.
He has also done a fantastic job at the media pressers clearly laying out in thoughtful, measured words what’s happening and why. Occasionally, he is thrown tough questions by the media and has given perfect by-the-letter lawful answers. Lovin’ it!
In a nice , totally unexpected twist, he does all that while throwing them a curve today and inviting them to make their complaints known to a body already set up to accept their complaints. Smart guy ahead of the ball who’s not going to be suckered into being manipulated by media. He also, astutely, let a French underling answer a French question he would have had trouble with answering personally. Lovin’ it x 2!
It would be an absolute disgrace if Ottawa does not quickly confirm him as the new police chief. A major no-brainer.
